The mark on the bottom (which is raised in relief) indicates that Sadler of England made the pot for the Salem China Co. of America.  The pattern was discontinued, but I don't know when.

The base color of the earthenware is Almond/Cream and the pot has an octagon shape. The glossy glaze and raised lattice panels are beautifully done  The pot is quite heavy, so it should be very durable.  The piece is about 6 1/2" tall (with the cover in place) and the largest diameter is about 5 1/2" across.
Naturally, the pattern features a Christmas Tree with presents beneath - there are also sprigs of gifts, bows & ornaments.
