M140 M-Type
This listing is for an M140 M-type laser diode fitted into a standard size 12mm black anodized laser module. Great for DIY projects, engraving, burning and other things that require high power lasers. A constant current source must be provided to the leads in order to run keep the diode running happy and stable. Leads on the laser diode can easily be removed to solder a driver directly to the pins of the laser diode.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
This laser diode is very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Proper precautions must be taken.
Additional heatsinking is highly recommended to increase lifespan. Running the module without heatsinking can result in failure from overheating.
Please note that the 3EG collimating lens used gives an incredibly clean laser profile, at the cost of having a 70%
efficiency
. This lens can be replaced if more power is needed
Constant current is essential to running this module. Do not connect it straight to a power source that isn't current limited.
All of the modules are tested with various lab equipment before shipment to ensure proper functioning and high quality.
